Inside Line Promotions – LINDSAY, Okla. (Feb. 29, 2016) – Harli White is set to return to competition this weekend at the Red River Roundup.

White will pilot her family owned midget with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series on Friday and Saturday at Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she has only competed in a sprint car prior to this weekend.

“I’m really excited because I love the midget,” she said. “Being able to get back in the midget for the first race of the season will be pretty awesome. I have high expectations to do well. Our goal is to win. I need to redeem myself from last year. I led two midget races, but was unable to make it to the checkered flag first.”

Last year was the first year that White competed in a midget outside of the Chili Bowl Nationals and she came up just shy of her first career midget triumph on multiple occasions. This year the plan is to compete in the midget approximately a dozen times.

Following a successful outing last month at the 2016 Chili Bowl Nationals, White is savoring every moment in a midget.

“Coming off the Chili Bowl and being in the B Main on that Saturday really is a confidence boost,” she said. “Our confidence going into this weekend is great. We have a fresh engine and fresh car. Hopefully we can put everything together and start the season with a win or two.”

White placed 13th last year and third in 2014 at Red River Speedway in winged sprint car races.
