Inside Line Promotions – LAWTON, Okla. (July 12, 2016) – Harli White is hopeful to return to competition this weekend during an ASCS Red River Region doubleheader.
“The car still isn’t running right so we’re going to take it to the dyno this week,” she said.
White fought the car last weekend when she competed with the series in Oklahoma. The action began on Friday at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Wainwright, where White won a heat race and made the feature redraw. She pulled the second-highest number – seven – to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row. However, rain invaded the area and cancelled the race.
White ventured to Lawton Speedway on Saturday for the Sooner Sweep finale. She finished where she started – fifth – in a heat race, which lined the team up on the outside of the seventh row for the feature.
“We didn’t have a very good heat race,” she said. “I started toward the back of the A Main and made a couple of spots up. The car wasn’t running right. It’d start blubbering and act like you were half throttle. You’d be full gas into the corner and it’d start putt-putting. A few laps into the race a guy got into me and pretty much gave me a right rear. That broke the front axle so that ended my night early.”
White was credited with a 17th-place result.
If everything goes well on the dyno she is slated to race this Friday at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark., and Saturday at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas. It will be her debut at Texarkana 67 Speedway. White finished fifth at Superbowl Speedway last year.
