Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (Oct. 4, 2017) – Harli White has one more new state to add to her 2017 experience and it will come this weekend.
White will compete in Colorado for the first time ever this Friday and Saturday at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan for the Colorado ASCS Fall Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“I’m really excited to get on a new track,” she said. “It looks pretty fun. Hopefully we can get some good racing on it. I think going to new places helps me adapt to different situations faster. Everything about each track is so much different. It’s just all learning. I can’t learn enough.”
White raced last Saturday with the ASCS National Tour at I-80 Speedway, where she placed fourth in her first heat race before advancing from ninth to seventh in her second heat. She ended fourth in a B Main to narrowly miss a transfer, but was able to use a provisional to start 24th in the main event.
“We had a fueling issue all night that really hurt us,” she said. “We had a good handling car, but with the motor not running to its full potential it put us back. I hate that we had to use a provisional, but it’s great that we had that option so I could get more laps around that track. Unfortunately, it took rubber early so we weren’t able to learn a lot. I pulled off about halfway through the main because I didn’t want to waste our equipment.”
White picked up a handful of positions to finish 20th. She continues to rank ninth in the ASCS National Tour championship standings with nine races remaining on the schedule.
“Our focus is to continue to learn as much as we can and build momentum going into the offseason,” she said. “This has been a crazy year being on the road full time. I’ve learned so much and our team has grown so much. I want to continue to soak up as much as I can so that whenever we return to some of these tracks we have notes and knowledge to start the night.”
