Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (May 28, 2019) – Harli White is focused on continuing her consistency into one of the busiest stretches of the season.
White and the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour kick off the Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek, which features five races at five tracks in an eight-day period starting Saturday at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas.
“It’s a fun bullring,” she said. “We nearly got rained out last year, but somehow got the race in. You never know what to expect so we’ll see how it goes. It’s a fun place.”
White has finished just outside the top 10 in the Speedweek championship standings each of the last two years. However, she improved from posting one top 10 in 2016 to one top five and three top 10s last year.
“Going into racing this year we were more prepared and had things better in line,” she said. “That’s one of the main things. You have to be prepared for any situation with that many races in such a short amount of time. We are prepared. We’ll see how it goes since we go from small tracks to big tracks to anything in between.”
White is off to the best start of her sprint car career. She’s already earned a win and has a trio of top fives and seven top 10s in 13 total sprint car races entering Speedweek.
Her team posted a pair of 17th-place outings last weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway, which hosted a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader.
“We got behind the eight ball all weekend,” she said. “Our drawing skills weren’t the best and when you draw bad it makes you start toward the back. When you do it’s tough to move forward. That’s part of racing so we just threw last week out and are focused on what is ahead.”
White ranks eighth in the championship standings entering Speedweek.
